Background

With a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Economics, Brian got his start in the insurance industry as a management trainee for a large insurer. There, he worked as a specialty lines examiner and staff adjuster. Eventually, he pursued other independent claims adjusting opportunities, including 10 years of experience as a senior account manager and control adjuster for two of Canada’s largest construction firms. Brian is a published author on the topic of Builders risk claims handling and has presented training for large national brokerages for this line of Insurance claims.

Brian oversees the handling of claims of all sizes – from property and general liability to builder’s risk, wrap-up liability, auto liability and professional liability. Clients appreciate Brian’s ability to adapt to whatever each loss situation requires with a high degree of professionalism. Brian is comfortable in complex, high-stress environments and able to manage an ever-adapting schedule with ease. He has an innate ability to foresee potential issues and understands how to effectively leverage outside resources to expedite claim resolution.

The personal side

Brian resides in the tri-city area. When he is not adjusting claims, he enjoys spending time with his family, snow skiing, motorcycling and physical fitness.

Brian Lloyd, BA Honors, CIP, CRM

Branch Manager London/Kitchener

Executive Adjuster

Working in professional services is a little like walking a tightrope. To satisfy all stakeholders, you must achieve the perfect balance between high service, expediency

and cost-efficiency. This is a skill that Brian Lloyd has mastered in his work as a claims adjuster over the past 24 years, and an advantage that sets him apart from adjusters

with less experience.

Key strengths & specialties

  • Personal and Commercial Lines Property claims handling
  • CGL claims including host and Occupiers Liability
  • Completed Operations and Products Liability
  • Environmental Liability
  • Automobile Liability
  • Construction claims including Builders Risk and Wrap-up Liability

Brian is licensed in all lines of insurance and completed offsite Xactimate training in 2012. When asked about his work, he says, “I’ve always enjoyed the unknown variables of claims. There are new people to meet, new places to go and new puzzles to solve. It’s an interesting line of work where you learn new things every day.”

While Brian can adjust the largest and most complex claims – and even handled a $1B claim earlier in his career – he is quick to point out that he is equally engaged and adept at handling small losses. During the July 2013 flood, he managed multiple small-scale personal and commercial water damage claims with impeccable insured satisfaction ratings. “It’s really not about ego,” Brian says. “For me, there is truly no claim that is too big or too small.”
